About TheMake-up Man
Firstly, hello!
I guess you've come here as you are interested in exactly how to put make-up on your face in a way which actually makes you look better! Well, you're in the right hands. My name is Phil (He/Him) and I have been a make-up artist in London for the past 25 years. I trained at The London College of Fashion gaining a distinction HND in Specialist Make-up in 1997. Since then I have honed my skills working on pop videos, TV commercials, films and for 13 years I was Head of Make-up at ITN providing make-up for ITV News, Channel 4 News, Channel 5 News, London Tonight and a host of specials including the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Royal Wedding of Kate and Wills and I was the make-up artist at Clarence House for the engagement announcement of Prince William and Kate Middleton. This means I haven't spent my career making up flawless 16 year old models! Every shape size and skin tone has passed under my brushes. So the phrase I hear often, "there's probably nothing you can do for me" really doesn't count! From those who know me and have had consultations I am said to be professional and confident whilst remaining warm and friendly and I always like to keep a sense of humour close at hand. In addition to being a professional make-up artist I am also a Skin Camouflage Practitioner providing consultations in camouflaging conditions such as birthmarks, Vitiligo, scarring etc. If you are looking for a consultation of this type please go to my Camouflage Consultations site by clicking here For testimonials click here To find out more information about me including my full CV please view my professional make-up artist site here I look forward to meeting you and helping you look your absolute best! What happens during a consultation? In a calm and relaxing environment you will learn techniques, tips and tricks on make-up application, tailored to your needs, whether you like to get ready at a leisurely pace or have only minutes each day to prepare to face the world.
Bring your entire make-up bag with you, if you have one, including the bits you're embarrassed by and together we will sort out the items you should keep and begin to use properly and the ones which would best be discarded altogether.
What do others say?“Make Up has always felt a bit of a
mystery to me...how to do it properly etc. Phil was wonderful in not only doing my make up so it looked good but took time to explain how to recreate the looks myself. This is such a big help as it’s all very well having someone do your make up brilliantly – you want to be able to have a bit of that day to day. Phil used high quality products that felt light on the skin but provided the coverage I was after. The setting of the consultation was relaxed and informal but I always felt like I was with a professional – which is what Phil is. I would absolutely recommend him and am planning to revisit soon to refresh what I’m using and also get some more tips!” Sarah, London "I felt like a million dollars when Phil did my make-up and I looked it too. Such a brilliant guy." Lynn, Bournemouth For more testimonials click here |
